The TCRE sensor has a revolutionary electrode design. Each TCRE sensor contains 3 electrodes: outer ring, middle ring, and center disc.
The TCRE sensor performs the Laplacian automatically and takes bipolar differences of the surface potentials from its closely spaced electrodes, which improves common mode rejection.
The outer ring of the TCRE sensor has the same size as a conventional disc electrode and emulates disc electrode biopotentials.
Each TCRE provides 2 output signals: ①a high fidelity, differential Laplacian signal by combining the differences between (outer ring - center disc) and (middle ring - the center disc)；②a conventional EEG signal from the outer ring.
Besides EEG, the TCRE sensor can also be used to acquire electrocardiography (ECG), electromyography (EMG), and other biopotentials.
The TCRE works in conjunction with the t-Interface 20.
